We study the convective and absolute forms of azimuthal magnetorotational instability (AMRI) in a Taylor-Couette (TC) flow with an imposed magnetic field. show that domain AMRI is wider than AMRI. Actually, it which most relevant important for TC experiments. The AMRI, unlike one, stays device, displaying sustained growth can be experimentally detected. also global finite height using DNS find its emerging butterfly-type structure -- spatio-temporal variation form upward downward traveling waves very good agreement linear stability analysis, indicates presence two dominant modes giving rise to this butterfly pattern.
